2017 – POSSIBLE SCAM ALERT

Today, I recieved an email from CloudAtCost billing suggesting I have to pay a yearly maintenance fee, or risk having my account suspended. So far, I have emailed the owner of the company personally asking for clarification on what is happening. If you look over at Twitter, you can see once again, I am not the only person impacted. There are dozens of tweets already discussing this exact same thing.
All Canadian users impacted are encouraged to file a complaint with CAFC (The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre) – LINK HERE

I have recieved an email update from CloudAtCost Co-Owner, who has advised me “Let me look in to it.” in response to me asking him if I was charged in error.

Hey, is there a way to sign up and sue these guys…. I am seeing complaints all over, but no unified customer base/force.

If enough people report them perhaps there will be legal consequences for them. What they are doing is fraudulent.

I’m in the same boat too.. 🙁 Services was suspended today because apparently I didn’t pay my annual “MAINTENANCE fee”…
uhhhh for some reason, I’m able to gain access to my servers again…. CRAZY…
nevermind… it’s unusable… c@c is hopeless… scammers
At 8AM today:
All Servers inaccessible,
The admin interface panel.cloudatcost.com stopped responding,
Even http://www.cloudatcost.com went offline.
Rumors are flying.
My VPS is also offline from 6 of July.
No reply from cloudatcost. The problem is that i had a mail server on that VPS for about a year now.
it just keeps getting better….now servers that were working are “installation failed”. only option is to delete them.
i’m glad i moved my shit off there….moved to a real provider. CAC is a total scam.
I was not willing to pay the so called maintenance fee. My vm is down, also no access to panel.cloudatcost.com
“Cancelling all of your One Time packages will also cancel your maintenance fee.” – this was the idea from the beginning, I’m sure.
Their cloud drive is also unaccessible, despite it’s independent from the vm hosting. I opened a ticket for this too, 11 days ago, no response at all. vm and storage, both are gone. Anyway, the service quality was/is extremely poor in both cases.
Scam. Planned scam, definitely. At least I learnt something: pay monthly, and if any issue, choose another hosting provider immediately.
even better now….just a big red button to cancel service.
fuck these guys. i just wanted to go on and check to see if they are dead yet…..nope, they are still alive scamming customers.
i’ll take a shared host on go daddy over these guys any day. digital ocean is actually reliable and fairly cheap. this company should be featured in an IT rag somewhere, warning of unsustainable business models.
Server down for days. No reply for any tickets open. Only scummers-
